My Word: aspire
Counseling is a second career for me as I served in the Army National Guard and have work experience in marketing. I also worked in leadership as a director in children's ministry for ten years, which included working with children with various diagnosis and their families. In addition, I have four teenagers, one of whom is autistic. Being a mom of an Autistic child has given me the personal experience and understanding of the challenges in parenting someone with unique needs.
My focus in therapy is to facilitate communication, assist in conflict management, and encourage positive relationships. I work with a diverse population of clients and create a treatment plan based on individual needs, values, and goals. I offer Christian counseling to clients who wish to incorporate their Biblical values as part of the therapeutic process. I enjoy working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families, and I am especially passionate about working with couples and families as they navigate making changes in their relationship dynamics.
I have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Longwood University), a master's degree in Marketing (University of South Florida), and I am in my final semesters as an intern student at Liberty University for my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My program is CACREP accredited in clinical mental health counseling, which means it meets a rigorous educational standard. In addition, I am SYMBIS certified (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts), a program designed for pre-marital counseling.
