I’m Christina Carter, a Licensed School Psychologist with a passion for helping children, adolescents, and young adults work through challenges and build on their strengths. I specialize in concerns in the early developmental period. I pride myself on my interpersonal skills and my ability to connect with clients and create an environment of trust.
I have extensive experience providing psychoeducational evaluations to identify giftedness, learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and intellectual disabilities. With over six years of experience working in schools, I have a thorough understanding of how this information can be used to support school-based teams in developing 504 Plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEP).
In addition to providing comprehensive evaluations, I am also experienced in providing counseling services for a variety of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, social skills, and anger management. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment and believe that treatments should be tailored to clients' unique needs and experiences. I utilize the cognitive-behavioral approaches to therapy, and incorporate elements of mindfulness, art, and play therapy based on individual needs.
I received my Master’s degree and Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology from The University of Alabama. I look forward to helping you aspire to be the very best version of YOU or to do support your child in doing just that!
Christina enjoys traveling, running, going to the beach, and spending time with her family and friends.
