Hi there!

 

I’m Christina Carter, a Licensed School Psychologist with a passion for helping children, adolescents, and adults work through challenges and build on their strengths. I specialize in concerns in the early developmental period. I pride myself on my interpersonal skills and my ability to connect with clients and create an environment of trust. 

 

I'm a neurodiversity affirming evaluator and have extensive experience providing neuropsychological evaluations to identify giftedness, learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, ADHD, and Autism. I have learned a great deal from my young and adult clients who are neurodivergent. Their experiences have helped shape my conceptualization of clinical differences. With over 7 years of experience working in schools, I have also a thorough understanding of how this information can be used to support school-based teams in developing 504 Plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEP). 

 

In addition to providing comprehensive evaluations, I am also experienced in providing counseling services for a variety of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, social skills, and anger management. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment and believe that treatments should be tailored to clients' unique needs and experiences. I utilize the cognitive-behavioral approaches to therapy, and incorporate elements of mindfulness, art, and play therapy based on individual needs. 

 

I received my Master’s degree and Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology from The University of Alabama. I look forward to helping you aspire to be the very best version of YOU or to support your child in doing just that!
