My name is Glorys but I go by Glo!
I am a mother, passionate about helping kids and adolescents navigate through any obstacles in life. I have worked in residential programs for children and teens, as well as in the private practice setting. Childhood is such a remarkable phase in life that when things aren't going the way they should, it may feel like walking in a lost journey. My role is to guide children/adolescents in finding themselves and living a life that is meaningful and fulfilling.
While I enjoy working with children of all ages, I also take pride in my expertise with young adults and families. The transition to independent living and functioning may require support. It is not uncommon to find the process overwhelming and stressful. Some take this as an opportunity to learn more about themselves and truly reach another level of self-understanding. That path of self-discovery can come with many pains but if pursued with intention can help you find your inner strength.
Families need support too! It can be difficult to care for a loved one with emotional needs. When burnout shows up, having the support of a therapist can help. I love to help families understand each others' strengths and communicate with more love and compassion for each other.
How great would it be to have a safe, judgment-free, and relaxing space for you, your family, or your child to speak freely? My approach involves getting to know your child by being present and interactive with them. I use play therapy as appropriate. I encourage mental flexibility in thinking about ourselves and the world and intentional actions.
When I'm not at work I enjoy spending time with my family, home decor, reading books, and going to new places.
