Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Cost: $130 per session

My name is Jessica Gilbert and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist™.  I have extensive experience working in schools, community residential programs and in private practice. I love working with young minds but many of my clients are adults and parents.

I have a passion for helping children and teens become empowered in finding their voice and developing ways to express themselves, while also providing a space for them to feel seen and heard. Many young clients are learning to put abstract experiences into words and learning to understand themselves so that they can state their needs. This work is really important to help reduce frustrations, behavioral challenges, and improve interactions with others.

I enjoy working with parents and families to help them discover better ways in communicating and strengthening their relationships. As a trauma trained therapist I help individuals process and overcome trauma-related difficulties. My work with adults extends to other challenges such as depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, and self-concept.

Young adults and Millennials are another one of my favorite groups of people to work with! Adulting can be hard but the journey does not have to be one you do alone. I'm here to help develop healthy relationships, setting positive boundaries, manage stress, and overcoming self-criticism.

I believe that representation is so important when it comes to mental health and I pride myself in having experience in working with a diverse population of clients including multicultural, LGBTQIA+ and Neurodivergent individuals. My treatment approach is person centered and integrative. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, EMDR and mindfulness techniques. I also have experience in working with children that have been adopted and in foster care.

I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Family & Child Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Social Work both from Florida State University.

On her spare time Jessica enjoys going to the beach, doing yoga, gardening, spending time with family, and traveling.
