My Word: Compassionate

Dr. Julia Hollinger

Online or In-person

I’m Dr. Julia Hollinger, and I specialize in conducting psychological, neuropsychological, and psychoeducational evaluations for children and adolescents with a wide range of academic, socioemotional, and/or behavioral difficulties. I completed a predoctoral internship in a Neuropsychological Clinic, which afforded me the opportunity to both assess and intervene with adolescents with a variety of neurodevelopmental impairments, including specific learning disabilities, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as mood disorders, anxiety, and behavior disorders. My postdoctoral work has focused on conducting comprehensive, individualized assessments in order to understand an individual’s personal strengths and challenges and to offer specific recommendations for treatment. I am highly experienced as a school psychologist, having worked with individuals from preschool through college age in both the school and outpatient settings for 15 years. I am well versed in educational procedures and policies, and enjoy assisting families navigate the special education process, which can be quite daunting. I aim to bridge the gap between families and schools to provide the child with the most appropriate treatment across settings with respect and consideration for all parties. In addition to diagnostics, I also have expertise in suicide prevention and intervention. I am a longstanding member of the American Association of Suicidology and am certified through that organization as a Certified School Suicide Prevention Specialist. Additional areas of specialization include the assessment of executive dysfunction and related disorders. On a personal note, I am an avid runner with a focus on training for the 5- and 10K distances. I am always in the middle of listening to several audiobooks, mostly crime fiction. I also enjoy lazy weekends by the pool with my husband and pitbull.
