Hi!
I'm Lina, a USF Marriage and Family Therapy Intern. I'm very excited to be working with this diverse group of mental health professionals at Dr. Lake & Associates and receive direct supervision from Dr. Monica Lake and my program supervisors at USF. I feel very well supported in this journey and have been given amazing tools to conceptualize situations and provide strategies that support each individual's needs. I'm passionate about mental health and helping people improve their way of function.
I have previously worked with clients and their families in difficult health stressors situations, which spurred my interest in attending to their mental health needs. Facing our psychological needs is not always an easy task but it sure is an important one. The decision to attend therapy is a brave one. My role is to make the process easy and comfortable so that clients can achieve their goals.
I place a strong focus on working with couples and families due to my interest in the relationship between individuals and how to improve them. The dynamics of a relationship is unique on its own and an important piece of my work. I bring attention to all things that contribute to challenges but the priority is to shift the focus to trying new approaches that help heal the dymanics. I also enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, couples, and families seeking support in depression, anxiety, stress-management, and relationship concerns.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and am now enrolled in the Master’s program in Marriage and Family Therapy program at the University of South Florida (USF). In my free time, I love to travel, play with my dogs, spend quality time with loved ones, and practice yoga and meditation as a therapeutic outlet.
