I am Nichole, a Palo Alto University Marriage and Family CounselingIntern. I am thrilled to be a part of the Dr. Lake & Associates team of mental health professionals. My life focus is to understand and work with clients to help guide them to better living.

I understand that life is full of different challenges for different people and therapy is not a one size fits all remedy. Meeting my clients where they are and working together to make progress towards a healthier self is my main priority. My journey to helping others began when I became a Certified Professional Coach and created a program that solely focused on aiding my clients struggling with low self esteem, and body image dysmorphia. Given the program's success, doors were open at a local middle school where I began teaching the conceptualization and skills to the children whom experience a plethora of challenges in this arena. I am now continue my work with young people and adults as a mental health professional.

I am passionate about offering a comforting, non judgmental atmosphere and use techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and other therapeutic approaches to aid in anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship concerns. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples seeking healing and growth.

Before working on my Master's in Family & Marriage Therapy, I graduated with my Bachelor's in Biological Sciences from Michigan Technological University followed by a Juris Doctorate degree from WMU Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Continuing education and constantly learning has been essential to my growth and well being.

I am a new mom to two beautiful boys, a pup, and a wife to a local firefighter. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, teaching spin class, and going out to eat!
