My WorD: EMPOWERED
Hello!
My name is Renee and I specialize in working with children and teens. My interest in mental health began when I was a teenager. Through my own experiences, I have recognized the need for mental health services and for helping reduce stigma within our society.
I love working with developing brains. I believe children and adolescents are in an important period of development and need to feel validate and supported in their life journey. Getting the appropriate mental health care is important to healthy growth and problem solving. Mental health is the vehicle to a flourishing child. I have worked with at-risk adolescents for the past 5 years in high needs settings. My heart has grown even founder of helping youth who often feel lost, misunderstood, and hopeless.
As I continue to grow as a counselor, I would like to gain experience with diverse populations to expand my knowledge and understanding of different cultures and backgrounds as well as to reach more people with my work. My journey as a counselor will be lifelong, and I hope to help others become empowered along the way.
I received my Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. I am currently attending a CACREP-accredited Master’s program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University.
