Courtney Thompson, MS
Registered Clinical Social Work Intern
$120
Hi, I’m Courtney!
I’m a master’s-level therapist working toward full licensure in Florida. I earned my Master of Social Work degree, a graduate certificate in Social Work Therapeutic Modalities from the University of South Florida, along with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. My educational training also includes coursework in addiction, co-occurring disorders, and trauma-informed care, which guide my approach to therapy.
I work from a neurodivergent-affirming perspective, informed by both my clinical training and lived experiences. I value the many different ways people think, process, and move through the world, and I aim to create a space that feels collaborative, flexible, and respectful of each person’s strengths and needs. I enjoy working with clients who are navigating ADHD, burnout, overwhelm, identity shifts, and patterns like perfectionism or self-critical thinking, and who are looking for more sustainable ways to move forward.
My clinical experience includes outpatient behavioral health and hospital-based care, where I have supported individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, insomnia and sleep pattern disturbances, and life transitions. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), as well as somatic and mindfulness-based practices. I tailor each treatment plan to the individual, recognizing that no two people are the same.
BEYOND HELPING PEOPLE:
You can usually find me spending time with my cats, Scout & Felipe, baking something a little overly ambitious, grounding myself by practicing yoga or Pilates, or getting fully absorbed in a board game that takes over the entire table.
