Hi, I'm Emily!
As a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern, I am passionate about creating a supportive and welcoming space where clients feel heard and understood. I believe everyone deserves a safe place to explore their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences without judgment. I approach each client with empathy, curiosity, and respect for their unique story.
My goal is to help individuals develop greater self-awareness, build healthy coping skills, and work toward meaningful personal growth. To achieve these goals, I draw on multiple therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Overall, I strive to build a strong therapeutic relationship and to meet clients where they are in their journey.
I received my bachelor's in biological and social sciences with a minor in criminology from the University of South Florida and am currently pursuing my master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. Outside of counseling, I enjoy taking walks with my family, listening to music, and baking.
Starting therapy can sometimes feel intimidating or overwhelming, but I am committed to helping you feel comfortable, supported, and understood as you begin your counseling journey and work toward positive change.
