Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern

Hi, I'm Lauren!
Seeking support can feel intimidating, and I believe therapy should be a place where you feel comfortable, understood, and accepted exactly as you are. As a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI), I am passionate about creating a warm, supportive environment where clients can explore challenges, build on their strengths, and work toward meaningful growth.
I enjoy working with children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, emotional regulation difficulties, self-esteem concerns, and life transitions. As a neurodiversity-affirming clinician, I strive to create a space where clients feel supported, valued, and empowered to be their authentic selves.
My approach is person-centered, collaborative, and strengths-based. I believe that every client has unique strengths and the capacity for growth. I tailor therapy to each individual's needs while incorporating evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), mindfulness-based strategies, and play-based techniques. Together, we work to build coping skills, improve emotional regulation, increase self-understanding, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Originally from Upstate New York, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from SUNY Cortland and my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients and families as they navigate challenges, discover their strengths, and work toward greater well-being.
Professional Trainings & Certifications:
Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP)
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
Pathological Demand Avoidance Certification (PDA)
BEYOND HELPING PEOPLE:
I love spending time with family and friends, enjoying nature, staying active, and exploring new ways to practice mindfulness and self-care.
