Hi Everyone!

My name is Danica!
Â
As a compassionate registered mental health counseling intern and a certified rehabilitation counselor, I forge genuine, non-judgmental therapeutic connections with my clients, fostering trust through a holistic approach that leverages their strengths and community resources. My belief in a personalized approach is reflected in my integration of diverse interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Social Skills Training, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused methods. This tailored customization aligns closely with my client's specific needs, preferences, and values.
Â
My passion lies with individuals navigating developmental disorders, conduct disorders, anxiety disorders, and depressive disorders. I am dedicated to providing support while empowering clients on their path to mental well-being. Additionally, my experience extends to working with individuals with physical health disorders and disabilities, where I understand the profound impact on their mental well-being.
Â
Having retired as an NCAA Division 1 athlete, I empathize with the unique stress and mental challenges athletes face. I am devoted to working with athletes, aiding in building confidence, resilience, and addressing mental health struggles inherent in high-level sports.
Â
I possess master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counselling and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, both from Florida Atlantic University. I have completed courses in American Sign Language (ASL) 1, ASL 2 and am currently enrolled in ASL 3 at Seneca College. I am actively striving to achieve fluency in ASL to eventually offer counseling services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community.
