Hello! My name is Ire (pronounced E-ray). Being a Nigerian American, I grew up in a culture where prioritizing mental health is taboo. I developed a passion for changing that narrative by advocating for mental health care and pursuing a doctoral degree in a clinical psychology program, which I am currently attending. I have earned a Bachelor's degree in psychology from Georgia State University and a Master's degree in clinical psychology from the Florida School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University. Throughout my past three years of training at the Florida School of Professional Psychology, I have worked with a wide variety of children, adolescents, and adults with various mental health concerns and presentations, including ADHD, autism, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, trauma, personality disorders, learning disorders, and more. I am especially passionate about working with adolescents, emerging adults, and culturally diverse populations. I deeply enjoy working with clients collaboratively and identifying and addressing their life concerns, struggles, and areas for growth. I believe in a client-centered integrative approach to therapy, meaning that I desire to place the client's concerns that they bring to the therapeutic room at the forefront and plan to address these concerns by pulling from different approaches that best fit the client. No two clients are the same, so a goal of mine is to be flexible with my clients to gain a deep understanding of who they are and build a strong working relationship with them based on respect, trust, and care. From that point, I strive to provide my clients with an unwavering safe, judgment-free, space rooted in empathy where we can then build up skills that will lead to each individual reaching and maintaining their goals. Additionally, I am a big advocate for self-care and engage it myself by spending quality time with family and friends, crocheting, visiting local museums, catching up on my favorite shows, and going to the beach. I look forward to working with you!
