Hello, I'm Katie! Counseling has always been integral to my life and is something I have been passionate about since I was in High School. I have always been passionate about helping others and counseling has been something that has transformed my life physically and mentally. Having a background working with children through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, I have a big passion for working with children. As a mental health counselor in training, I look forward to providing all my clients with a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment. I believe that everyone coming into therapy deserves a safe space to work through the healing process and that the healing process looks different for everyone. I am excited to work with a diverse range of ages and populations. I focus on employing a mixture of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy techniques but I am open to utilizing any counseling technique that will benefit the client and their needs. I believe that counseling is a collaborative approach and that the client and counselor should work together to develop a treatment plan and create goals. I received my bachelor's from the University of South Florida, where as an undergraduate, I engaged in research focusing on mental health and stigma. I am currently in my second year at Nova Southeastern, receiving my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
