Hi I am Luzmary!

As a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern, I am dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families as they navigate relational challenges and move toward deeper understanding, connection, and fulfillment. I am committed to providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients can engage in meaningful growth and self-exploration. My approach centers on building a strong foundation of trust, bringing my authentic self into each session, listening with empathy, collaborating openly, and remaining fully present throughout the therapeutic process.

I practice from a collaborative, client-centered, and culturally responsive lens, honoring the individuality of each person and family I serve. I believe that every client brings their own strengths, stories, and goals to therapy. With this in mind, I integrate a range of evidence-based modalities to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. My work is grounded in a deep respect for human resilience and the belief that healing emerges through understanding, healthy connection, and self-compassion.

I am especially passionate about supporting individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, and neurodivergence. I draw from Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy and attachment-based interventions, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Sex Therapy principles, Trauma- and Grief-Focused approaches, Mindfulness-based practices, and SPACE treatment (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions). By integrating these modalities, my goal is to empower clients to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and achieve meaningful and lasting change.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. Guided by warmth, empathy, and genuine curiosity, I believe strongly in the transformative power of relationships to foster healing and personal evolution. Building trust and rapport is central to my work, and I am committed to walking alongside clients as they cultivate greater well-being, connection, and personal growth. Originally born in Cuba, I moved to Florida at the age of 12 and have made it my home ever since.

BEYOND HELPING PEOPLE:

I enjoy staying active and engaging in interests that enrich both my personal and professional life. I love playing chess, spending time outdoors, practicing mindfulness, and exploring adventurous activities such as skydiving, hiking, boating, snorkeling, and rock climbing. I also appreciate the arts—whether reading, opera, or music—as sources of meaning, inspiration, and connection to the human experience.
